Get Help Paying Your Medical Bill
At Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham, we are committed to helping people in the communities we serve access the care you need. We offer free or discounted health services to people who cannot afford to pay.
Our Financial Assistance Policy
If you don’t have health insurance, a member of our financial counseling team can work with you. We help you learn if you’re eligible for financial help programs, free of charge.
We make it easy to apply for medical financial help, even if you have some insurance.
Our financial counselors help you fill out forms needed for all financial assistance programs if you’re eligible. This service is free.

- Mount Auburn Hospital

Please note that certain physician groups providing care at BID Needham are not covered under our financial assistance policy.
Massachusetts State Insurance
You may be eligible for a state program like MassHealth depending on your family income and family size.
If you have limited or no insurance coverage, you may qualify for help through one of these programs:
- Commonwealth Care. This program offers low-cost or no-cost health insurance for people who qualify, and it provides comprehensive benefits and a choice of health plans.
- Health Safety Net. This program pays for health services provided by acute care hospitals or community health centers for certain low income, uninsured and underinsured patients.
- MassHealth. This program combines Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). MassHealth members also may be eligible for covered doctor visits, prescription drugs, hospital stays and other services.
