About Core Updates and Essentials in Primary Care
The Core Updates and Essentials in Primary Care program at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital—Needham provides Primary Care Providers (PCPs) with fully accredited continuing medical education (CME).
At the conclusion of each of our monthly meetings, participants will be able to articulate current knowledge in each of the following sub-specialty areas:

You can sign up for single sessions. However, if you plan to attend more than six of the 10 sessions, you should sign up for the full series to save money.
Getting Credit for a Live Webinar
We base your credit for attending the live webinar on your logging into the event and filling out the evaluation form at the end. We require both activities to process your credit. The evaluation requires that you write a reflective statement of what you learned during the session. Without this statement, we will not be able to process your credit.
We report all ABIM and AAFP credits directly to the organizations for you. We will also add the credits to your running transcript.
You can initiate AAFP credit processing through the “Submit my transcript” button in your eeds.com account.
We automatically transfer MOC credits via the eeds.com system.
On-Demand Viewing
You are not obligated to attend the live webinar Saturday morning sessions of Core. We record each webinar so you can view the session at a time that’s convenient for you. We make each course available to you for the next calendar year.
Both the live webinar and on-demand versions of Core come with AMA PRA Category 1 Credits, ABIM MOC and AAFP credits. Please note that you will be required to fill out the evaluation with a reflective statement for the live webinar.
For any on-demand viewing, you will be required to take a quiz and fill out the evaluation with a reflective statement. All 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 lectures will be available to you with a full subscription through your eeds.com account for a total of 72 hours of CME.
Who Should Attend
We welcome PCPs practicing in the New England region and beyond to attend our online CME course. This program provides AMA PRA Category 1 credits and ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) points at a low cost and in a convenient format. Get information on tuition and payment for the program.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Each month, you will receive an email with a code to log into the webinar. There are a few ways you can log into a Core live webinar:
- Follow the link that we email you the week prior to your upcoming webinar and type in the secret code.
- Log into your Core eeds.com account. Find the webinar by typing in your secret code or clicking on the calendar (our event will be clearly marked).
- Use your Core eeds.com mobile app to log in from your phone, tablet or other device.
Due to the sheer number of participants, we automatically disable all participant cameras and microphones to avoid background noise or disruptions. You will only see and hear the presenter(s) and our Course Director, Dr. Beth Manning.
The Zoom platform allows you to type in your questions to our faculty. Dr. Manning will review the questions for relevance and priority. She will address as many as she can with our faculty during the Q&A part of each session. We also have a chat feature that allows you to communicate with your colleagues during the lectures.
Absolutely not. You can take as many or as few as you’d like. We award your credit for the number of hours you attend.
Yes, the eeds.com system offers an app for your mobile device. You can watch the live webinar, fill out your evaluation and view the handouts—all through your phone.
When using the on-demand version of Core, you will be required to:
- Take and pass a quiz.
- Fill out the evaluation with a reflective statement.
Taking these steps validates your engagement in the activity and allows us to grant your AMA PRA Category 1 Credits, ABIM MOC and/or AAFP credits.
We will automatically upload your ABIM MOC credits once you fulfill the following requirements:
- View the live webinar and follow the system prompts for claiming MOC points.
- Fill out the evaluation with a reflective statement of what you learned from the session.
Unfortunately, the BORM does not currently have a system in place for CME providers to report your credits directly for you. Therefore, you will be responsible for reporting your CME credits to the Board if and when needed.
Your credits will all reside in your eeds.com transcript — available for you to access at any time. Your eeds.com account never expires regardless of your participation in Core.
AAFP credits will be automatically uploaded when you click on the “Submit my transcript” button in your eeds.com account. You’ll also have access to your running transcript to see your cumulative credits whenever you like.
The eeds.com system automatically tracks all of your CME credits, Risk Management and Pain Management credits for you. You can even set your state-specific requirements to your account to know exactly where you stand with your re-licensure requirements.
With your eeds.com account, you have instant access to your certificates and a running transcript of any Core credits both live and online for the past two years as well as all future credits. You can even add your credits from other CME events.
The eeds.com learning platform will be your go-to place for e-learning and to view all of your CME credits. You can access the live webinar as well as the on-demand versions of Core in a single location.
Yes. You can always sign up later or sign up for individual sessions at any point. However, registering for the full series through the eeds.com payment system will cost you an additional $40 surcharge for creating your account through eeds.com. Processing your payment now through the Core payment portal allows us to skip that fee. We advise signing up sooner rather than later.
