Magical Hospital Fundraiser Slated for November 4th

MAGICAL HOSPITAL FUNDRAISER SLATED FOR NOVEMBER 4 "It's Magic … Imagine the Possibilities" to Benefit Women's Health Programs at Beth Israel Deaconess-Needham Hospital It's Magic … Imagine the Possibilities" will be the theme of a November 4 gala to raise funds for women's programs at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham. The evening will feature an ethereal blue, black and silver milieu with magical and mysterious characters, including a wizard, a palm reader and a magician. There will also be a silent auction, live auction, quickie boards, dinner and dancing to the music of Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish. Honorary co-chairmen of the event are Needham School Superintendent Steven Theall and Per Eldh, a radiologist at BID-Needham who was chairman of the department for many years. The gala will be the first event honoring Mr. Theall, who is retiring this spring, for his service to the children of Needham. Funds raised Nov. 4 will help the hospital's Radiology Department pay for facilities and equipment related to its bone densitometry and digital mammography services. "This year's gala is about imagining the possibilities for the future of the hospital, especially the clinical services it provides for women," said Jeffrey H. Liebman, hospital president and chief executive officer. "We deeply appreciate the support that members of the community have already shown by helping us plan this festive and unusual evening." The evening at the Newton Marriott Hotel will begin at 6 p.m. with cocktails and end at the "witching hour" of midnight. The gala committee is currently soliciting sponsorships, auction items and program advertisements. Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham, a community hospital providing acute care to the Metro West area of Boston, joined Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2002. Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians from BIDMC provide the Needham hospital with critical hospital-based services, including cardiology, emergency medicine, general surgery, oncology, pathology and radiology.
