The Clinical Laboratory/Division of Pathology is an integral part of the patient care provided by Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Needham. The laboratory provides state of the art testing services for both in-patients and outpatients. These services include anatomical pathology, cytopathology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology, transfusion medicine and immunology.
Deborah Wayler, MD, Chief of Pathology, is a member of the Harvard Medical Faculty Physician (HMFP) group of more than 75 world renowned attending pathologists, principal research investigators, fellows and resident physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
The laboratory's affiliation with the Department of Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center provides BID-Needham patients with direct access to advanced resources and diagnostic testing that are only available within an academic institution, as well as a strong working relationship with pathologists who have expertise in highly specialized areas of diagnostic pathology and laboratory medicine.
The BID–Needham laboratory is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Hospitals, The American Association of Blood Banks and The Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Monday-Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
