We deliver state-of-the-art cancer care in a warm, supportive environment. It’s the kind of care we’d want for ourselves or our loved ones. And it’s here in our own community, just minutes from home.
Multidisciplinary, Harvard-Affiliated Specialists
At the Lank Cancer Center located at BID Needham, we focus on providing care that’s compassionate, team-based and centered on you. World-class specialists who are members of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) make up our team. These include experienced medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons. They’re the same experts you’d see if you traveled to Boston — and they’re available right here in Needham. Other caring professionals, including hematologists, oncology nurses and specially trained social workers, join them in your care.
Team members consult with one another — and you — about your care. We make sure you and those who care about you understand your options and can sort through all the medical and very personal decisions you face.
Together, your team comes up with the best possible treatment plan for you. We also assign you a primary nurse. The nurse is here to answer your questions and help coordinate and manage your care. We’re committed to providing you with the support you need every step of the way — from diagnosis through your recovery.
Services and Amenities
Services and amenities we offer include:
- Access to clinical trials — These trials, which test novel, innovative therapies, are available through the Boston campus of BIDMC.
- On-site lab and pharmacy — Laboratory Services are provided to cancer center patients during their visits. pharmacy service support infusion services within the Center Center infusion clinic.
- Our patient portal — It’s a secure, password-protected, web-based program. It allows you to communicate with your health care team and ask non-urgent questions. You also can manage appointments and access your medical records, test results and doctor notes 24 hours a day.
- Cancer care items — Wigs, hats and scarves, special creams and lotions, books and more are available through our specialty shop.
Specialized Cancer Care
The clinics allow you to see key specialists in one visit. You may meet with one doctor or with several at the same time. Our doctors also are immediately available to consult with one another.

Lank Cancer Center
Our services are offered in the Lank Cancer Center. This modern, 30,000 square-foot facility is conveniently located next door to BID Needham. It was designed with you in mind.
The center offers top-level treatment technology and high quality cancer care on two floors of the cancer center. Architects also incorporated plenty of natural sunglight and a healing garden that can be seen from our treatment areas. It provides a calming effect and is intended to give you a bit more peace of mind.
