The NAC provides neuropsychological assessments designed to identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses to assist with diagnosis, facilitate patient management, and determine optimal ways to succeed in school, work and daily living. A treatment plan is designed for the patient, providers and educators, and is discussed in detail with patients and families. Patients with the following may be appropriate for referral
- Memory complaints
- Complex attention problems
- Evidence of known or suspected cognitive problems secondary to medical illness
- Psychiatric illness
- Head trauma
- Mild cognitive impairment or decline in cognitive status
Evaluations for learning disabilities and ADHD are available, though sometimes are not covered by insurance. Referrals for appropriate treatment are provided.
