James J. Mahoney Jr.(right) serves on the Trustees' Finance Committee and Richard W. Davis (left) serves on the Development Committee.

Mr. Mahoney brings to the hospital many years of experience as a successful investment manager and entrepreneur. He was co-founder and principal of HLM Management Co., where he oversaw HLM's investments in the healthcare and technology sectors and served as chief investment officer. Mr. Mahoney has also been general partner in the Institutional Services Division of Cowen & Company and a senior management consultant at Touche Ross & Co.

Among Mr. Mahoney's other activities are service as a director of Blessed John XXIII National Seminary, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher, Aspect Medical Systems Inc. and Polymedica Inc. He is a former Needham Town Meeting member.

Mr. Davis is president and chairman of the board of the Provider Insurance Group of Needham. He was formerly president of the Edward L. Davis Jr. Insurance Agency of Needham, where he worked from 1865 - 1997.

He has served on the boards of professional associations in the insurance industry, including the Independent Insurance Agents of Massachusetts, where was president from 1986-1987. He is a director of the Independent Insurance Agents of America and Minuteman Insurance Co., and chairman of the board of InsurBanc, which provides specialized banking services to the insurance industry throughout the United States.

Mr. Davis has been a Town Meeting member in Needham since 1975. He is also a member of the Needham Rotary Club and a director of the Needham Community Council and the Needham Historical Society.
