Lecture to Address "Menopause: The Rite of Passage"

The onset of menopause raises health-related questions that every woman must answer with her doctor. On January 10, internist Jane Fogg, M.D., will address these issues in a free lecture at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham. Dr. Fogg will provide a medical definition of menopause and discuss how women can assess whether they have reached that stage of life. She will also discuss the duration of menopause, help for hot flashes, weight loss challenges and the latest thinking about hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Dr. Fogg will take questions after her presentation. Dr. Fogg is medical director of Beth Israel Deaconess HealthCare-Needham at 310 Chestnut Street, an internal medicine practice that opened in the former Blockbuster Video space last year. The lecture is part of "Aging Gracefully for Young & Old," a community education series at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham. Refreshments will be served and parking is free.
