BIDMC Contact: M Pantridge
The ninth annual Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham gala will honor prominent orthopedic surgeon Mark Haffenreffer, M.D., and retired business-man William F. Meagher, Jr., on Friday, Nov. 2, at the Newton Marriott Hotel.
"Each year the hospital recognizes two individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the hospital or the community," said Jeffrey H. Liebman, president and chief executive officer of BID-Needham. "This year's honorees have made significant contributions to both."
Dr. Haffenreffer and Mr. Meagher will be honored during the dinner that is the centerpiece of the 6 p.m.-midnight event. Proceeds this year will support the expansion of the hospital's South Wing, which will enhance patient care and privacy and house a new Emergency Department and 24 private patient rooms.
The evening will also include silent and live auctions and dancing to the Winiker Band. Some 500 guests are expected to attend. Briarwood Health Care is the lead sponsor.
