Dr. Eric P. Launer Joins Needham Orthopedics

Dr. Eric P. Launer, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham, has joined Needham Orthopedics, where he will specialize in sports medicine and knee and shoulder reconstruction. Dr. Launer welcomes new patients and referrals.

Dr. Launer has served as team physician for athletes at all levels. He also participates in care of work-related injuries. His clinical interests include both knee and shoulder reconstruction.

Dr. Launer received his medical degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of South Florida as well. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Alabama Hospitals in Birmingham, Ala., where he also served as chief resident. He was awarded a sports medicine fellowship at the Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics Center.

Dr. Launer is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Before coming to Needham, he practiced in both solo and group settings in Rhode Island and Georgia.
