Now the nation's premier accrediting body in health care has added an exclamation point. In October, the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) inspected BID-Needham. They spoke to patients, physicians, nurses, technicians and volunteers. They looked at protocols, data, facilities and safety…thoroughly and in great detail. The results: We achieved a 100% rating for National Patient Safety Goals. We met every single one of JCAHO's 500 standards of performance. JCAHO surveyed more than 1,000 hospitals during the first 10 months of 2005. Only 3% achieved this position of excellence- and BID-Needham is one! In 2004, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center was another.
