BID Needham Gala Slated for Nov 2
BIDMC Contact: Tracy Murphy
The premier fundraising extravaganza in the Needham area - the annual Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham gala - will be held this year on Nov. 2 at the Boston Marriott-Newton Hotel.
Once again, a committee of volunteers from Needham and surrounding communities is organizing an unforgettable evening of dinner, music, dancing and auctions to benefit the hospital. Funds raised this year will support expansion of the hospital's Emergency Department and inpatient unit.
The committee seeks additional volunteers to perform enjoyable tasks such as organizing tables, soliciting auction items, creating quickie boards and promoting the event. Time commitments are flexible.
"Every year since the gala began in 1998, it gets bigger and more exciting, and this year will be no exception," said Leslie Medalie, a Needham resident who with her husband, Seth Medalie, is serving as co-chair of the event for the second year in a row. "We cordially invite members of the community to save the date. We also welcome anyone interested in serving on the committee."
Seth Medalie added, "Needham and surrounding communities are fortunate to have such an excellent hospital in our midst. The gala provides us with an annual opportunity to demonstrate how important this institution is to every single family."
Opportunities to participate include sponsorship, buying tickets, volunteering, donating auction items, organizing a quickie board and advertising in the program book. For more information, please call event manager Tracy Murphy at 617-754-0779.
