"Tech Neck" Relief Workshop (FREE)

Smartphones, iPads, keyboards, and computer screens can wreak havoc on our necks and posture. Too much time on screens and a lack of movement are causing stress on our necks and shoulders. Join this fun, interactive workshop to learn exercises to tame the tensions in our head, neck, and shoulder regions. Reset, stretch and strengthen muscles in the upper, middle, and lower back. Learn proper workstation set-up (ergonomics) and the importance of working in moderation. This workshop will leave you prepared to start a productive and tension-free workday.  Limited to 24. No fee, but registration is required

SUZANNE BRAND, OTR/L, CHT, is an Occupational Therapist at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham, has specialized in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation for more than 30 years and has been the clinical supervisor for the hand and upper extremity rehabilitation department at BIDH-Needham for the past 24 years.  She works closely with three hand surgeons in the evaluation and treatment of a variety of hand and arm conditions and injuries. In addition, she does all of the work place assessments at the hospital and suggests workstation set-ups for optimal posture and performance.  She has given several presentations on proper ergonomics at software development companies in the area.
