Retirement Plans

Saving for the future is important. BID Needham offers a voluntary 403(b) retirement savings plan, as well as a basic pension plan.
403(b) Program

Our 403(b) program offers you the advantage of saving money while deferring taxes. These contributions are invested in a Fidelity Investments fund of your choice. After one year of eligible service, BID Needham provides an employer match on eligible employee pre-tax contributions at a varying percentage based on years of service.

Basic Pension Plan

Our pension plan contributes 2% of your base pay to your Fidelity account. Pension plan contributions begin after one year of eligible service.

Paid Time Off (PTO)

BID Needham offers a two-part PTO program.
Earned Time (ET)

Through our ET program, you accrue (earn) paid time off each week based on your scheduled hours and length of employment. You can use ET for personal illness, vacation and holidays.

The ET accrual rate for full-time employees increases after your three, five, seven, nine, 12 and 15 years’ service anniversaries. The accrual rate is pro-rated for eligible part-time employees.

Extended Illness Bank (EIB)

Your EIB hours are earned separately from ET, and you can use them in the event of an illness lasting more than three days.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Your personal and professional lives are demanding. BID Needham’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helps you meet the challenges of these demands. We offer confidential assistance to you and your household family members.
