The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, or HCAHPS (pronounced “H-caps”), survey is a national, standardized and publicly reported survey of patients’ experience with hospital care. The survey is designed to produce data that allows for objective comparison of hospitals on topics that are important to healthcare consumers. Public reporting of survey results to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is aimed at incentivizing hospitals to be transparent with respect to the quality of care they provide and to improve on the aspects of patient care surveyed. BID–Needham shares the results of this survey with its staff, Hospital leadership and Board Members and efforts are constantly underway to improve these aspects of our patient care and overall experience. Below are BID–Needham’s most recent HCAHPS survey results.
